A student went to his master: “I want to know everything about Zen”

He got this answer: “May I offer you a cup of tea?”, starting pouring till it was completely full and spilling over.

“Can’t you see it’s full?!” asked the student, surprised.

Then the master explained to him our mind must be empted of stupid opinions, preconceptions and guesswork before learning something new: the student’s mind was like his cup of tea…

Western Diet

A typical western diet consists of red meat, refined grains, processed foods and high-fat dairy products, directly leading to an increased risk of many types of cancers and other causes.

I strongly suggest the use of non-processed foods and avoid carbs whenever possible (ANY form of simple sugar represents a primary source of cancer fuel, allowing it to spread).

(some statistics: our typical diet increases the risk of cancer 2.5 times!)

Putin and Syria

Some of us might feel happy because he’s deploying troops, planes and tanks to fight ISIS in Syria. Apparently the right thing to do. But in reality we must ask ourselves this question: how long before every Sunni Muslim in the Middle East will start reacting?!

Meaning: they are the vast majority in Syria and the Arab world, Putin will be seen as going there to protect Assad (a Shiite war criminal). Putin will alienate the entire Sunni Muslim world. He went into Syria without thinking too much, as usual, just to show that Russia is still a world power (think about Ukraine), but he just went into a trap from which he won’t come out easily.

Migrants and refugees

America is an immigrant society that has in the past and continues to absorb  people arriving from different part of the globe. For us, Europeans, this is a new experience. We once were migrants ourselves: we shouldn’t forget this. These people come to their new home, which today is nothing less than the entire world, becoming more and more a melting pot.

They arrive with the culture and language of their origins and the hope of making a new life. Transforming our societies into reality means working in a context where the migrants and refugees MUST pick up our culture. And we, like it or not, MUST pick up theirs.

In this phase it is common that we feel confused, but this is the seed of a future prosperous society: we must have faith! Because this is just the beginning, as they run from wars, hunger, desperation, misery. These migrants groups will be followed by others, many other communities and they will be examples of the contributions made by them to enrich our society.

This is our world, today. A smaller and smaller village.

Wonderful as joy

Your pain is your understanding capacity breaking apart.

Our body is speaking loudly

Our body is our master.

But we forgot it!
